Crystal Cove State Park

Map of Crystal Cove

Crystal Cove State Park, one of the gems in California's outstanding state park system, offers over four square miles of scenic open space and over three miles of undeveloped shoreline in Orange County. Below the sandstone bluffs are a series of sandy coves with a remarkably remote feel. Visitor facilities include picnic areas; campgrounds; trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use; and, a rarity on the California coast, historic cottages at the beach that can be rented by the public at moderate rates.

The Crystal Cove Underwater Park encompasses the nearshore ocean waters from north of Pelican Point to the south end of El Moro Beach. Several popular dive sites are located within this area. All resources are protected, including marine plants, animals, rocks, and archaeological artifacts.

Eleven historic cottages are open to the public as individual accommodations, and three are dorm-style facilities. The highly popular cottages must be reserved well ahead of time. Three of the cottages are accessible to the disabled, who receive priority in booking. Information on borrowing beach wheelchairs can be obtained by calling Crystal Cove State Park at (949) 494-3539
