The California Coastal Commission prepares and publishes five California Coastal Access Guides to the California Coast. These Guides are the definitive source for locating more than 1150 public access sites along the coast. Each site’s features are described, along with a list of amenities, such as parking, restrooms, disabled facilities, dog friendly and more. Beautiful color maps and photos are also included.

These books are the State of California’s official guides to the coast. They can be purchased at bookstores and from UC Press: https://www.ucpress.edu/book/9780520278172/california-coastal-access-guide-seventh-edition and https://www.ucpress.edu/search.php?q=explore+the+coast&submit=.
