Throughout the year, the Coastal Commission holds public workshops on current or evolving issues related to Coastal Act implementation, such as climate change, offshore wind, public access and other coastal resource-related subjects. These workshops are intended to provide Commissioners, coastal managers and the general public with deeper understanding of complex topics and to foster dialogue between the Commission, interested parties and the public. Workshop agendas are typically focused on subjects that the Commission encounters in the review of permits, appeals and local coastal program (LCP) amendments or on emerging trends for which Commissioners require a deeper level of understanding in order to make sound decisions.
