DRAFT Sea-Level Rise Policy Guidance Presentations
Opportunities to Learn More about the Draft Guidance DocumentCalifornia Coastal Commission staff has been conducting a number of outreach events designed to give an overview of the Draft Sea-Level Rise Policy Guidance, as well as to answer questions from interested parties and members of the public. Commission staff also presented the document at two Coastal Commission Hearings and hosted two online webinars. Details on these events are below.

Presentation to the Senate Subcommittee 2 on March 20, 2014

Assembly Select Committee on Sea Level Rise and the California Economy, How State Agencies are Addressing Sea Level rise, January 16, 2014
- Coastal Commission Executive Director Dr. Charles Lester's presentation: An informative presentation on the Coastal Commission's authority to address sea-level rise, a summary of the Coastal Commission's approach to addressing sea-level rise and coastal hazards, and an overview of the Draft Sea-Level Rise Guidance. - Coastal Commission Hearings
Commission staff presented the Draft Sea-Level Rise Policy Guidance at two regularly scheduled Coastal Commission Hearings. Both hearings also included time for the public to register official verbal comments on the document. The dates of the two hearings were as follows:- December 12, 2013 in San Francisco. - Public Webinars
Commission staff conducted two public webinars, each of which included a summary of the document, descriptions of sea-level rise projections for California, and recommendations for addressing sea-level rise in Local Coastal Programs and Coastal Development Permits. Each webinar was the same, and participants were able to ask questions during the webinars. The dates of the two webinars are below.- Webinar #1: December 4, 10:30am – 12:00pm.
