COASTWEEKS is an annual celebration of our coastal and water resources, kicked off by California Coastal Cleanup Day on September 16th. Last year, hundreds of events taking place in 55 California counties were included in the COASTWEEKS calendar. This year, let's create even more ways for people to celebrate our coast and waterways!
If you have an event that should be included in the COASTWEEKS calendar, please fill out the form below. (Alternately, the form can be downloaded as a PDF to be emailed, mailed, or faxed.) Your event must take place in California between September 16 and October 8 and relate to the topic of California's water or aquatic/marine habitats, species, history, health, and/or activities. Special events created for COASTWEEKS and pre-scheduled events are eligible, subject to approval by the Coastal Commission. This celebration is a great way to expand your outreach and to participate in a larger effort to encourage appreciation and preservation of our coast and our inland waterways. Examples of events for the COASTWEEKS calendar include environmental fairs, habitat restoration projects, bird watching, lectures, boat trips, public meetings, nature hikes, surfing competitions, and more. Events can be ANYWHERE in California, not just along the coast!
Please do not submit Coastal Cleanup Day cleanup events unless you are publicizing a non-cleanup component like a festival or facility tour. September 16th cleanups will already be included in the COASTWEEKS calendar through a link to the Coastal Cleanup Day web page. Contact your Coastal Cleanup Day County Coordinator for information.

The COASTWEEKS calendar will go online by August 28, 2017. Submissions received by August 21 can be included in the calendar when it launches. Later submissions may be added on an ongoing basis. Thank you for participating in COASTWEEKS!
